LISA HOUGHTON
Veterinary Nurse
RVN
Lisa graduated with a degree in Veterinary Nursing from Moreton Morrell College in 2008 and began her career in a mixed practice, working in the small animal department for 11 years. During this time, she gained extensive experience across all areas of general practice, including emergency care, theatre and anaesthesia, patient care, consulting, and orthopaedics
Passionate about inpatient care and client education, Lisa developed a particular interest in supporting geriatric patients—especially those suffering from osteoarthritis. To pursue this further, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Rehabilitation at the University of Nottingham in 2015. She then went on to establish a physiotherapy clinic within a veterinary practice, helping not only osteoarthritis patients, but also those recovering from injury or surgery. Since then, Lisa has continued to use her physiotherapy and hydrotherapy skills to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of her patients.
To broaden her clinical knowledge, Lisa also worked as a locum in both general and referral practices. It was during this time that she developed a strong interest in theatre and anaesthesia.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and her beloved cat, Toulouse. She also has a passion for travelling and discovering new places.
