Unfortunately she fell on our stairs and a quick X-ray at our local vets showed Beata had broken her Elbow (an incomplete ossification of the Humeral Condyle) the accident happened on the Thursday before the Bank Holiday weekend.
I’m very grateful the entire team worked hard through their own time (giving up their own holidays, in order to repair Beyatta’s Elbow.
The surgery went well, and Beyatta faced extended crate rest to allow healing.
The whole experience was traumatic but ultimately rewarding, as Beyatta has (touch wood) made an uneventful, perfect recovery, thanks to the hard work of the Team at Arthur’s Veterinary Specialist Referrals. Thank you very much much indeed, for your dedication, skill, and hard work.read more

OUTSTANDING and PROFESSIONAL
Our dog was hit by a van, which resulted in... an
infected wound and destroyed ankle
ligaments.
Several Vets had told us that we would have
to amputate our dogs leg. As this was not an
option for us, we contacted Arthur's veterinary
specialists.
With the extremely advanced expertise of
Professor Garth Arthurs, he was able to save
our dogs leg.
If it were not for Gareth and his team at
Arthurs Veterinary Specialists, our dog would
have lost his leg.
We really cannot thank you enough! And will
be forever grateful!!!!!!read more

Jake was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia and... shortly after this he had keyhole surgery (left elbow arthroscopy and medial Coronoidectomy)
The service we received from Gareth, Sam and the team was excellent from start to finish. The staff were very friendly, supportive and helpful. Gareth communicated every aspect of the plan and explained every step of the process to ensure Jake received high quality care.
Thank you so much for your kindness and care for Jake. We wish you every success. Michelle & Jakeread more
I’m a Registered Veterinary Nurse with particular interest in /experience of referral orthopaedics. I’ve known Gareth in a professional capacity for a number of years but I have never been on this side of the fence before, as an owner whose dog is needing a major orthopaedic procedure. I can 100% say that Gareth is the safest possible hands - so much so I chose to travel from Derbyshire to Northampton in order that Gareth be the one to do the surgery for Bert.
From initial contact when referral was looking likely, through to discharge of Bert after surgery, every aspect of communication and care has been completely professional and very easy, and conducted with an obvious genuine interest in, and care for, both the patient and the owner. Bert was not the easiest of patients while hospitalised, but every effort was made to keep him calm and make him feel safe. Hats off to the overnight nursing team in particular - I’m fully aware of how difficult he can be, so many thanks to you too!
I’d have no hesitation in recommending Gareth and his team to any owner needing to consider an orthopaedic referral for their pet. I worked in the field of veterinary orthopaedic referrals for more than 5 years and I can honestly say that Gareth is one of the kindest, most compassionate and straightforward specialists in his field. Huge thanks from Bert and from me.

My dog Teddy has had bi-lateral TPLO's by Gareth Arthurs in the last 9 months performed 7 months apart.
Gareth is a top orthopedic surgeon, extremely professional and compassionate.
Initially I was uncertain what procedure to go for with Teddy; having no insurance I wanted to make sure that the right procedure was selected because I can't easily financially afford mistakes/revisions etc. I went to Gareth for this reason having researched him and found he has a very good reputation; less chance of a costly mistake. Gareth was understanding of my concerns and sent me some papers looking at the different procedures and reassured me that the TPLO was the most effective procedure with the highest level of confidence.
Teddy recovered very quickly and fully with his first TPLO; he had his second last week and so far his recovery is even faster.
I would not hesitate to recommend Gareth and the team at Arthur's to anyone whose dog has an orthopaedic issue; they really have looked after Teddy wonderfully.
We were referred to Arthurs Veterinary Specialists as our mad Springer spaniel Bingo needed a Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteoptomy. From the very first moment we met the staff and vets at the surgery we have been so impressed with the level of service and care our dog has received.
The information provided, the time taken to help us and to explain everything we needed to know about the procedure and the after care has been superb.
Thank you.
My dog had bad break (2 bones) in right elbow. The surgery was carried out extremely well. I was kept in the loop all the way through, there were full and explicit instructions for her aftercare with regular checks by the nurse. She has recovered well and I would recommend this practice to everyone.
My large dog had a cranial cruciate rupture with subsequent x-rays and TPLO surgery carried out by Arthurs. They have been great at communication with detailed information given face to face and in writing about the disorder and instructions regarding aftercare. It was great to be able to speak to the surgeon directly and him to see our dog from start to finish. The surgical site is neat and my dog is rapidly remarkably comfortable. We felt confident from the beginning that he was in the hands of experienced orthopaedic specialists and wouldn't hesitate to use them again if needed.
As a vet myself, I could not be more impressed with the whole team at Arthur’s Veterinary Specialists. The level of skill, communication and overall care my dog received, when he fractured his hock joint and needed surgery, was first class.
