I can not thank the team at Arthurs for the care, compassion and kindness they showed to me and my dog.
Sarah on reception made me feel at ease and welcomed from the second I arrived. Her kindness was second to none and she really did go above and beyond to support, help and comfort me.
Fran was also amazing and I can't thank him enough for his knowledge, skill and expertise.
I was able to leave feeling reassured Jaz was in the safest of hands.
I was then kept fully updated through out the time Jaz was at Arthurs.
Ruby fully explained everything that had been done during her TPLO surgery and all the aftercare Jaz needed when I collected her the following day and set my mind at easy that if I had any concerns they were only a phone call away.
I can not recommend Arthurs highly enough and I feel extremely lucky to have found such a fantastic independent veterinary specialists.read more
We took him along to see Arthurs Veterniary Specialists and he was diagnosed with a ruptured cruciate ligament straight away. They kept him in and operated on him that day.
The entire team were brilliant. It's so heartbreaking to see your dog in pain, but Gareth and the staff were so reassuring. He took the time to go through exactly what the issue was and what they would need to do to get him back to normal.
They were so good with Jasper and when we got him back, there was plenty of really good aftercare. I emailed a couple of photos of the healing wound just to check it was ok and Gareth responded that day with a great email, reassuring us that everything was fine.
We didn't have loads of unnecessary stuff lumped in, with upselling etc. It was a world apart from the big corporate vets.
The entire experience is always going to be a bit upsetting but I can honestly say that the service we got here was second to none. I am moving away from Vets 4 Pet and going to register with Towcester Vets as a result.

Unfortunately she fell on our stairs and a quick X-ray at our local vets showed Beata had broken her Elbow (an incomplete ossification of the Humeral Condyle) the accident happened on the Thursday before the Bank Holiday weekend.
I’m very grateful the entire team worked hard through their own time (giving up their own holidays, in order to repair Beyatta’s Elbow.
The surgery went well, and Beyatta faced extended crate rest to allow healing.
The whole experience was traumatic but ultimately rewarding, as Beyatta has (touch wood) made an uneventful, perfect recovery, thanks to the hard work of the Team at Arthur’s Veterinary Specialist Referrals. Thank you very much much indeed, for your dedication, skill, and hard work.read more

OUTSTANDING and PROFESSIONAL
Our dog was hit by a van, which resulted in... an
infected wound and destroyed ankle
ligaments.
Several Vets had told us that we would have
to amputate our dogs leg. As this was not an
option for us, we contacted Arthur's veterinary
specialists.
With the extremely advanced expertise of
Professor Garth Arthurs, he was able to save
our dogs leg.
If it were not for Gareth and his team at
Arthurs Veterinary Specialists, our dog would
have lost his leg.

Jake was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia and... shortly after this he had keyhole surgery (left elbow arthroscopy and medial Coronoidectomy)
The service we received from Gareth, Sam and the team was excellent from start to finish. The staff were very friendly, supportive and helpful. Gareth communicated every aspect of the plan and explained every step of the process to ensure Jake received high quality care.
Thank you so much for your kindness and care for Jake. We wish you every success. Michelle & Jakeread more

Gareth explained everything thoroughly and talked me through x-rays/blood tests/etc so that I knew exactly what was going on throughout the whole process. My dog had a complete rupture as well as a meniscal tear and she developed patellar tendinitis 8 weeks after surgery which Gareth explained can be a complication in a minority of dogs - he diagnosed the tendinitis and ruled out a number of other causes in a follow-up appointment. She has now made a full recovery and is 16 weeks post-op.
I couldn't be happier with the entire experience with AVS and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. I'm hoping I won't need to use their services again (fingers crossed) but my bouncy Staffy may have other ideas! Thank you so much to the whole team.

They helped our dog Marley who required an operation for a cranial cruciate ligament rupture and dislocating knee-cap in his hind leg. Marley is a Havanese which is a small breed. We were really concerned about his size and whether the surgery would be successful but Gareth and his team’s expertise put our mind at ease. They spent time with us making sure we understood what was happening at each stage, without any pressure to go ahead with the procedure and answering all questions, no matter how big or small. Marley is now doing very well post-surgery, all thanks to Arthurs.
You can tell how Arthurs genuinely love dogs. The care they give is above and beyond. So happy we found them. Would highly recommend them to any owner whose dog needs orthopaedic treatment.
Thank you so much to everyone at Arthurs.

Every step in her treatment was clearly communicated to us in a friendly and understandable way.
We felt at ease in leaving our very sensitive dog in his hands.
Daisy has made an amazing recovery and is back to enjoying long walks and trips to the beach
A big thankyou to Gareth and his team. 5 Stars 🌟 all round.

I cannot praise Professor Arthurs and his team highly enough. They make the world a so much better place. Thank you.

I will recommend Gareth and his team to anyone looking for an he very best surgeon.
We are very grateful to him.

Gareth is a top orthopedic surgeon, extremely professional and compassionate.
Initially I was uncertain what procedure to go for with Teddy; having no insurance I wanted to make sure that the right procedure was selected because I can't easily financially afford mistakes/revisions etc. I went to Gareth for this reason having researched him and found he has a very good reputation; less chance of a costly mistake. Gareth was understanding of my concerns and sent me some papers looking at the different procedures and reassured me that the TPLO was the most effective procedure with the highest level of confidence.
Teddy recovered very quickly and fully with his first TPLO; he had his second last week and so far his recovery is even faster.
I would not hesitate to recommend Gareth and the team at Arthurs to anyone whose dog has an orthopaedic issue; they really have looked after Teddy wonderfully.

The information provided, the time taken to help us and to explain everything we needed to know about the procedure and the after care has been superb.
Thank you.

We cannot recommend Arthurs enough, Gareth is fantastic with so much knowledge! Everyone was very kind and provided us with so much information, we also have received great after care with calls and emails to check on how he is progressing. If you are referred to Arthurs you will not be disappointed as they are amazing at what they do. We are so grateful for everything that has been done for our Monters.
Thank you

Both legs are now repaired and she is back to enjoying life again.
Our experience of dealing with Arthur’s Veterinary surgery has been excellent throughout. We cannot recommend them more highly. Our lovely boxer is happy again and so are we!

Highly recommend!!

As soon as you enter, the team are warm and welcoming and you immediately feel supported and like you, and your pet, are in safe hands.
You can sense immediately that everyone, regardless of role, absolutely loves animals.
Molly was referred with ruptured cruciate ligaments in both hind legs, and needed pins and plates in both.
As an older dog I was very concerned about putting her through such a significant surgery - but Gareth reassured me from the beginning that her age was no reason not go ahead (as she is a really healthy ole girl), and that little dogs usually recover well.
On the day of surgery, Gareth called immediately that he was out of surgery to reassure me that all had gone to plan and that his team was feeding my fusspot fresh chicken, because she wasn't keen on the biscuits!! Spoilt little tyke.
And, he was absolutely right! She has recovered better than I can ever have imagined - I'm sure she thinks she is a spring chicken again!
The support, understanding and reassurance, as well as the care your little one gets are second to none.
I would 100% have absolutely no doubts recommending Gareth and his team.

Would especially like to thank Gareth and team for their care and attention to Molly.

Once for a Condylar Y fracture on my working Cocker Spaniel.
This was out of hours and I could not have asked for a better service at a very stressful time. Surgery went amazingly and the post op instructions were very clear. Recovery was easy and all went smoothly.
I have then recently been back again to have a preventative screw placed In his right elbow as this was showing signs of the same condition.
Again the service from Gareth and the team was amazing. Very clear instructions about the procedure and after care.
I would 100% recommend Gareth and his team.

We were seen first thing the next day after being referred by our local vet, the communication was spot on with extensive written information and instructions about how to care for our dog after her operation.
Costings were were clear and reasonable and our dog’s recovery has been impressive, a testament to the quality of care from AVS.
Thank you all!
I can not fault the care and service provided by Arthurs Veterinary Specialists. The initial consult was very thorough and Gareth took time to ensure I completely understood the options, what the operation would consist of, the costs involved and the after care and recovery required.
The day of the operation went smoothly with great communication, a detailed hand over with what to expect throughout the day, a telephone call from Gareth post operation to confirm all was well and explain what had been carried out. The collection hand over was again very thorough with great aftercare instructions from the team and a good explanation of what I could expect to see happening over the next few days and weeks.
The post op notes provided were fantastic. Bert’s physio commented that they were the most in depth post op notes she had seen which made it much easier for her to devise an effective rehabilitation physio plan.
I received a telephone call from the team after a few days to check that recovery was proceeding as it should be and the recovery continued to go smoothly. The 8 week post op x-rays were carried out to confirm healing was proceeding as expected and further instructions received on the next few weeks of recovery.
Overall, the whole experience was made as easy as possible, with great communication throughout and fantastic customer service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Arthurs Veterinary Specialists to anyone looking for an orthopaedic specialist and have already done so. My physio was also so impressed she has also recommended them!
Bert has made an excellent recovery and is doing really well and back to enjoying his walks again. Thank you to everyone at AVS involved.

Can not praise Gareth and Arthurs Orthopaedics enough.

Also need to praise Gareth's team-they were always so friendly, cheerful, helpful and supportive. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Well done to you all! I would not hesitate to return to Gareth and his team if the need arose.

We really felt that our dog was given the highest quality of care. Thank you.

Arthurs Orthopaedics was recommended to us by our own highly regarded veterinary practice in North Leicestershire.
Our cocker spaniel was displaying signs of initially very slight, intermittent lameness which progressed gradually over the next few months into permanent and very noticeable limping.
Our vet thought it could be the onset of arthritis and prescribed medication accordingly. This was proved not to be the case when his condition did not improve with the medication and x-rays were then undertaken which cancelled out any remaining doubts but also failed to shed any further light on the lameness.
It was thought he may have just suffered some sort of sprain or strain and rest and painkillers may save the day..Unfortunately this wasn't to be the case and it was very upsetting to watch our little fella deteriorate further.
We took him back and were told our vet had done all they could for him but they recommended Gareth Arthurs an orthopaedic specialist who may be able to help him.Initially we did wonder why we had to go so far afield but believe me it was worth it ! as was the consultation fee ..
Gareth made an immediate appointment for us despite literally just returning from his holiday and we were fully informed ahead of this of all costs to come so no nasty surprises!
What struck us most about Gareth (apart from his very obvious expertise in his specialist area of orthopaedics and passion for the subject) was how approachable he was and how such a highly intelligent and educated man could still manage to communicate in "simple layman's terms" to us owners (without being in any way patronising) what he thought our cocker spaniel was suffering from and the way ahead etc ..
Being the true professional that he is, Gareth sent our dog off for an emergency CT scan the results of which proved exactly what he had thought our dog's problem was likely to be just from the initial consultation and examination.
He then booked our dog in immediately for surgery as he was concerned that his elbow maybe in danger of snapping !
Gareth placed a titanium screw inside our dog's elbow to basically hold it together as he was suffering from a crack across the inside of his elbow.. And less than a week later our dog is walking normally without even a trace of a limp. The problem now is he feels so good again that we have to convince him he needs to take it easy for a while, although with Gareth's wonderful surgery he feels like he's up to a squirrel chasing marathon already!
Thank you Gareth for your expertise, your professionalism, your approachability, your advice, your swift replies and also to your team to the bubbly Sam especially who never showed any exasperation with my many queries and questions !! And to the lovely spaniel loving Paddy at Cambridge Referrals who did the CT scan ..

Massive thanks to Gareth and the team at Arthurs Orthopaedics and TVC for the care given to Bert for his recent TPLO procedure.
I’m a Registered Veterinary Nurse with particular interest in /experience of referral orthopaedics. I’ve known Gareth in a professional capacity for a number of years but I have never been on this side of the fence before, as an owner whose dog is needing a major orthopaedic procedure. I can 100% say that Gareth is the safest possible hands - so much so I chose to travel from Derbyshire to Northampton in order that Gareth be the one to do the surgery for Bert.
From initial contact when referral was looking likely, through to discharge of Bert after surgery, every aspect of communication and care has been completely professional and very easy, and conducted with an obvious genuine interest in, and care for, both the patient and the owner. Bert was not the easiest of patients while hospitalised, but every effort was made to keep him calm and make him feel safe. Hats off to the overnight nursing team in particular - I’m fully aware of how difficult he can be, so many thanks to you too!
I’d have no hesitation in recommending Gareth and his team to any owner needing to consider an orthopaedic referral for their pet. I worked in the field of veterinary orthopaedic referrals for more than 5 years and I can honestly say that Gareth is one of the kindest, most compassionate and straightforward specialists in his field. Huge thanks from Bert and from me.

We were first referred to Gareth several year ago when bilateral elbow dysplasia was diagnosed in my young Labrador. He was so kind & helpful to this first time dog owner who had no clue of the journey ahead and the difficulties we would face.
We've seen other consultants over the years on the recommendation of our vet but went straight back to Gareth once he became local to us again.
We've had a few appointments over the last 12 months. Gareth has taken the time to fully explain the options available and what he considers a realistic outcome would be. Prices are discussed in advance and estimates are realistic. Aftercare is good with comprehensive reports that are easy to understand and follow up phone calls + emails.
Fast forward to today when I have a senior Labrador who will never be cured but is happy & enjoying life. Thank you for helping us in our journey.

I really cannot praise Gareth Arthurs and his team at Arthurs Orthopaedics enough. After the cruciate ligament ruptured in my dog Molly's right leg (her left left ruptured about 18 months ago), I was distraught. As soon as I met Gareth I knew that she was in the best possible hands. He is obviously a top expert in his field. He explained in depth what he needed to do and I realised that with the type of surgery she required, the utmost precision was required for the surgery to be successful. Molly is now about 10 weeks into her post op period and is doing so well. I can't explain in words what a relief it has been to see Molly go from strength to strength. This is all down to Gareth. Thank you again so much.
Also need to praise Gareth's team-they were always so friendly, cheerful, helpful and supportive. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Well done to you all! I would not hesitate to return to Gareth and his team if the need arose.
