European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery with a particular interest in minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery and joint replacements.
Fran graduated from the University of Lisbon in 2013, moving to the UK immediately afterwards to pursue specialist training in surgery. After a period in first-opinion practice in East Yorkshire, he completed an internship and subsequently a small animal surgery residency at Dick White Referrals, finishing in 2020.
He became a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery in 2021 and has since worked in both academic and private referral practice.
Fran particularly enjoys minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery and joint replacements, and is passionate about evidence-based medicine.
Outside work, Fran enjoys all things Rugby Union — which he will tell you about after any length of conversation. He is also passionate about nature conservation and has an avid interest in medieval history.
